Painter, graphic artist, restorer, Studied at Penza art school (1920-е).
Lived in Penza and Moscow. Since the early 1930-х worked as a restorer of paintings in the State Tretyakov gallery, later — head of the restoration workshops of the Museum. The author of the book “basic techniques of conservation of paintings”, which became the first scientific textbook in the USSR on the Museum business; has prepared the publication “techniques of restoration of paintings” (M., 1948). During the great Patriotic war was engaged in the evacuation of the Tretyakov gallery in Novosibirsk, before returning the collection in 1944 made observation of the exhibits.
Worked as a landscape painter, portraitist. A member of the Union of artists of the USSR.
